VC’s industrial programs, housed in the William Wood Building, needed modernization. Regional business and industry partners have increased demand for a workforce trained in these highly skilled areas. The College secured corporate and private support to reinvigorate classroom and laboratory space and welcomed students to the remodeled facility in Fall 2021.

The exhibit space at the museum is currently fully utilized. The new expansion will provide 3,000 square feet of additional exhibit space to permanently display the Ranching Exhibit and 1,000square feet of restroom and cataloging space for museum artifacts. This addition will also include a 100-person lecture space, allowing for increased programming and expanded outreach opportunities for our community.

While Victoria College’s existing facilities provide spaces for student resources, they are not centrally located on campus, nor are they accessible in one building. The Student Success Center will be all-inclusive, combining functions such as a learning commons area, library resources, learning services, student services, and student life, along with a bookstore, food services, and other student support into a single, centralized facility.

The Welder Center will increase its capabilities with renovations to the Welder Center Annex, which was heavily damaged during Hurricane Harvey. The project is supported through funding from the Texas Historical Commission and a recent matching donation from The O’Connor & Hewitt Foundation. Once completed, the facility will be known as the Virginia Callan Welder Performance Annex.

The Allied Health Building provides specialized training courses for many of VC’s health science programs. Funds secured from public and private grants will allow the College to update laboratory and instruction facilities, and will also provide state-of-the-art simulation equipment.
